Defacto Relationships

Defacto Relationships

The Family Law Act defines a de facto relationship as two people who are not married or related by family but genuinely live together.

This can apply to heterosexual and homosexual couples. De facto couples do have different rights to married couples in such areas as financial maintenance (not including child maintenance), division of property and assets and estate entitlements in the event your partner dies without a will in place.

Call Diamond Conway on 02 9222 8000 to discuss any legal concerns you may have arising out of your defacto relationship.
